The Africa Carbon Market Inc.
What we do
The Africa Carbon Market Inc. is a private sector platform to trade emissions and encourage local green
development and promotion practices and technologies for zero-carbon economic development. We employ
technology to innovatively engage economic actors in Africa, on business framework to achieving carbon
neutrality. The process of aggregating reductions by business, industry, and sector basis encourages clean
and renewable business strategies and scales low-carbon investments in light of the United Nations Framework
Convention on Climate Change.
The strategy of the Exchange is to enable trading on monitored, measured and certified emission reductions
by companies, projects, practices, products, and events. This will also enable increased growth of
low-carbon economic development and businesses in Nigeria, while particularly scaling adaptation and
deepening adoption of carbon-neutral pathways.
The greater objective is to raise finance for green-focused projects to enhance knowledge in the Voluntary
Carbon Market (VCM) to generate transactions for value chain participants - project developers, carbon
auditors, brokers, traders, verifiers, and government. It will also attract private and multilateral
development project funds as climate finance. This could come as Climate Funds, Green bonds, and private
investments with huge portfolio syndicate funds or insurance premium rebates for low-carbon or green
projects.
The Exchange will excite public and private sector participation in greening Nigerian development and
incentivize the process.
It will partner United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, third-party verifiers and relevant
government regulators, project promoters, businesses, and civil society groups in this development
activities. It invites brokerages, carbon trading intermediaries, carbon-neutral activities, and projects.
It will host carbon and climate change development dialogues, policy engagements, capacity building, and
awareness events or conferences nationally and internationally.
